The Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) in collaboration with the Botswana Public Officers Pensions Fund (BPOPF), has launched a radio drama initiative, Peo Ya Sechaba designed to promote a culture of service excellence, strength and work ethic across the public service.
Peo Ya Sechaba is a 12-episode radio drama series, with each episode running for 10 minutes, and is scheduled to air on Wednesdays at 7:50pm on Duma FM, Radio Botswana, Yarona FM, and Gabz FM. It will be aired on RB2 on Thursdays at the same time.
The programme, launched on April 20 is aimed at empowering citizens with a clear understanding of pension benefits as a cornerstone of social security.
“The series speaks in a language that resonates, tells stories that reflect our reality and inspires change in a way that is both accessible and deeply profound. And what makes this initiative impactful is the medium, which has a unique power of reaching people in their homes and in their daily lives. It is communication at its most human,” said Assistant Minister for State President, Defence and Security Maipelo Mophuting-Dikoloti at the premiere of the drama series.
She stated that Peo Ya Sechaba would ensure public officers were empowered to make sound decisions regarding their future.
Interim CEO of BPOPF, Kwenantle Otukile said the initiative reflected the strength and value of strategic collaborations.
“By working closely with DPSM, we have integrated our messaging around service excellence, accountability and professionalism, thus ensuring that we address both the financial well-being and the workplace experience of our members,” Otukile said.
Through the drama series, Otukile said DPSM and BPOPF would be able to meet people where they are, speak their language and address real-life situations that resonate with everyday experiences. ENDS
