The sky is the limit for the duo, Itumeleng Nthoiwa aka Bangai Bafallo and Samson Nthoiwa alias Farrain Samusa, whose single Dibiri di Kae has marked a major milestone in their career.
The hit track has surpassed one million streams on Spotify and gained strong traction on TikTok, where users around the world have embraced the song for dance challenges and creative content, propelling the brothers into the spotlight.
Both in their twenties, the two share more than musical chemistry as they are siblings. Their bond, makes their artistic journey feel as if it is written in the stars.
“Blending traditional influences with contemporary sounds, their music carries the authenticity of home while aiming for global appeal,” the duo explained, adding that their fusion style represents a fresh direction for Botswana’s music industry.
Their growing recognition both regionally and internationally has been supported by their manager, Leago Mogano, who confirmed ongoing discussions with promoters and booking agents in Tanzania, Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
Mogano also revealed possible collaborations, including interest involving Xduppy of the New Money Gang label founded by DJ Maphorisa.
The duo have additionally expressed ambitions to work with international stars such as Burna Boy, Wizkid and Tyla, alongside local artists including Ezra and Han-C.
Despite their success, the brothers acknowledged facing challenges, particularly limited music infrastructure in Botswana , an obstacle affecting many local creatives. However, they turned to digital platforms to expand their reach.
“Social media became our stage, consistency became our weapon, and Leago Mogano became the connector that opened doors to promoters across the globe,” they said.
Reflecting on their streaming milestone, the duo described the achievement as validation rather than a final destination. Their long-term ambitions include global tours, platinum plaques and building a legacy that places Botswana firmly in the international music conversation.
With Mogano steering their business strategy, the brothers emphasised their broader vision: “We are not just building careers, we are building culture,” he said.
They encouraged upcoming artists to remain consistent and confident in their craft.
“It is difficult to predict the future, but if you stay consistent and believe in yourself, your breakthrough is inevitable,” they said, urging creatives not to fear taking risks despite the challenges they may encounter. BOPA
