Ban-T to drop new single after 8 years
29 Feb 2024
Eight years since the release of his first hit single “Naomi”, Baanthata ‘Ban-T’ Mokgwathi will this Friday drop another anticipated offering, “Move”.
Over the years since Naomi dropped, Ban-T worked on collaborative projects, and now he has decided to give his fans something they have been waiting for.
“Move”, a much more dance hip hop track, is a feel good and laidback tune celebrating love.
“I fused the hip hop rhythm with log drum. If you like my songs such as “Don Dada” and “Naomi” you will definitely enjoy this one,” Ban-T said in an interview with BOPA.
He posted on his Instagram handle saying: “This is definitely one of those nervous but excited type songs, experimented a lot. I cannot wait for you all to hear this one”.
Produced in Johannesburg by a Motswana creative Tanaka ‘Mr Miyagi’ Sibanda, the chorus of “Move” is inspired by one of Botswana’s favourite hip hop groups Magosi’s classic song also called “Move”.
“The song was one of my favourite local hip hop songs back then,” said Ban-T.Talking about his eight year break, Ban-T said the years went by quickly and so much happened.
He said he believed that in those years he had grown much better at making music, and extended appreciation to his fans for supporting him since the release of “Naomi”. Ends
