Galaxy widen search for coach

Jwaneng Galaxy have floated an advert for the services of a head coach.
The advert requires the applicant to have a CAF A license or equivalent, which is one of the requirement for a team that has ambition of playing in the continental competitions.
Sikalame ‘Six’ Keatlholetswe was roped in as a temporary measure for Galaxy to be able to participate in the last continental competitions and the team was hopeful to have him on a permanent contract.
However, the club’s spokesperson, Tankiso Morake, said they had to let him go since they could not agree on certain terms.
“Now the challenge that we have is that local coaches with the required licenses are few, which then limits our net. We then decided to open the advert to even foreign coaches who may be interested,” he said.
Morake said although foreign coaches were much more costly, they had no choice since the few local ones were either engaged with other teams or not practicing at all.
Morake indicated that apart from having the required license, some of the credentials they required from potential candidates would be international football experience at both adolescent and senior level as well as good exposure to African football among others.
There had been rumours that Galaxy were eying the services of former Botswana Football Association technical director, Serame Letsoaka and Morena Ramoreboli, who recently guided Bafana Bafana to a COSAFA Cup glory as assistant coach in the absence of the substantive one. ENDS
