Kgosi cautions learners

Balete deputy chief, Kgosi Tsimane Mokgosi has encouraged Kagiso Senior Secondary School learners to put education ahead of all other interests.
Kgosi Mokgosi expressed this recently during the school’s boot camp training in Ramotswa. He expressed hope that the training taught learners skills on how to overcome some of the life challenges.
Kgosi Mokgosi added that the camp had attended to some of the problems that the school was facing such as indiscipline, crime as well as drug and alcohol abuse.He encouraged the students to assist one another in their studies so that they would be able to do well.
Kgosi Mokgosi encouraged the students to support one another to move out of drug and alcohol abuse and other vices. He added that the mandate of dikgosi was to promote the welfare of the community and that they were responsible for the unity of the community.
For his part, Kagiso Senior Secondary School head, Mr Clyde Sibanda said boot camps were started in response to students’ ill behaviour. He said the boot camp had made a great impact among Form Five students and he was hopeful for better disciplined children.
Mr Sibanda said objectives of the boot camp were to enable learners to rediscover themselves, to promote self-responsibility and accountability in learners, and to create career exposure opportunities.
Form Five students promised a changed behaviour while thers promised to do well in their studies and appreciated the support they got from parents, teachers and workshop facilitators. ENDS
