Miss Ramotswa Project will this Saturday April 8 host a mini aerobathon to raise funds for the needy.
The mini-aerobathon proceeds would be used to aide Re bona Fa Caring Centre and Ditlhong Family whose house burnt to ashes recently.
Miss Ramotswa project coordinator, Olerato Thobega in an interview said apart from raising funds, the project was aimed at celebrating Ramotswa beauty and raising awareness on fitness.
“Fitness is the most important aspect of life, that is why individuals should make it a lifestyle and also the reason for choosing it to raise funds,” said Thobega.
She said the same project was held last year adding that they started working with Re bona Fa Caring Centre last year where they donated food hampers among others.
Ditlhong family, she said would be provided with more than food hampers but pointed out that this would depend on the money collected.
She said Miss Ramotswa Project did not have its own money but relied on raising funds to assist and using their talents and skills to reach out to the underprivileged.
Thobega, a first year Social Work student at the University of Botswana noted that the mini-aerobathon was part of the assignment Miss Ramotswa pageant participants and organisers were tasked with.
The pageant was held December last year and won by Mosa Baletsamang. Activities for the mini-aerobathon would include a five kilometre fun run, aerobics, boot camp circuit and health talk.
The mini-aerobathon would be conducted by Super Fit Gym, Toronto Fitness Centre and Mmasechaba aerobics and would be held at Emmanuel Counselling Centre starting from 8am until afternoon. ENDS
