01 Mar 2023

Home and Property Expo Botswana will host a premier home and property event at the Fields Mall from March  3 to 5.

One of the organisers Mr Joseph Khengere explained in an interview that the essence of the expo was to create interactions and a networking platform for home and property owners, industry leaders as well as new players in the market of Botswana.

“The expo aims to empower Batswana to defy the odds, learn and come up with ways to own huge investments for themselves, as history has been made through the Fields mall which is a 100 per cent  citizen owned mall,” he said.

Mr Khengere said they partnered with local companies for the success of the expo.

He said the one of a kind show which was organised in collaboration with the Fields Mall would be managed by Tinawe events lounge, which was experienced in managing premium events in malls.

He said one of the partners was Botswana Housing Corporation, a leading in real estate in Botswana.

Also expected at the expo are Time Projects, Real Estate Advisory council, local property developers, architects, interior designers, landscape contractors, and construction companies.

Real Estate Institute of Botswana Vice president, who is one of the key stakeholders of the event Ms Neltah Mosimanegape said REIB was a professional body advocating for practitioners in the real estate such as property agents, valuers among others.

She said REIB was aware of the public concern where property buyers find themselves cheated by scammers masquerading as estate agents. She cautioned the public to be careful because most scammers sold one property to more than two people.

“During the expo they will try to address such issues and teach people about what REIB was doing,” she said.

She said they and were encouraging anyone who wanted to buy property to make sure that the person they were buying from was an agent registered with REIB.

The three-day event will start with official opening and VIP day and  the last day will be opened to the public for free. END
