Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) has given away P100 000 to 10 lucky winners who each walked away with P10 000 after recharging with a minimum of P100 on the BTC network.
Head of brand marketing, Mr Thabo Modise said the competition started last year October as an incentive to their customers as well as to reward them for their loyalty.
“We aim to maintain and to groom our relationship with our customers as well as improve the lives of Batswana through these competitions,” he said, adding that it would also improve the country’s economy.
He stated that the competition would be held annually, and that to ensure fairness they had engaged IT experts to regulate and run the competition.
Mr Modise also said there were other competitions that they have put in place such as Tsala tsa summa where BTC customers were given discounts on Internet bundles and data bundles.
“There is a BTC Francistown marathon that will be held towards the end of April which will be an effort to give back to the country,” he said.
One of the winners, Mr Boiki Rantsha said he was happy to be one of winners as he had never won any competition before, adding that the money would help him to repay his debts.
“At first, I thought it was a scam and I had to visit BTC offices to confirm for myself,” he said, adding that he used BTC because it had a good network coverage.
This year the competition will run until 31 March and all BTC customers stand a chance to win by recharging with P100 and dialing *180# to enter the competition. Ends
