Nthoiwa transfers to Francistown Magistrate Court

Robbery suspect, Wadza Nthoiwa has been transferred to Francistown Magistrate Court to answer for an armed robbery charge that he allegedly committed there.
Nthoiwa, who was recently handed over to Botswana’s prosecution authorities and later remanded in custody following extradition from South Africa, had been wanted for an armed robbery incident that was committed in Francistown on September 19, 2016.
Prosecutor, Ms Garetlwaelwe Mokhondo of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, told Magistrate Gofaone Mosweu of Broadhurst Magistrate Court on Monday that the suspect, who was not in attendance, was on his way to Francistown and would be arraigned on the same day.
Ms Mokhondo said the case would be heard in Francistown where the crime was committed and therefore requested that it be withdrawn from the Broadhurst Magistrate Court.
Nthoiwa, 33, was on November 14 remanded in ustody by Broadhurst Magistrate Court upon his extradition from South Africa where he had fled.
Meanwhile, it is reported that Nthoiwa allegedly, on or about September 19, 2016 at Francistown in the North East District, armed with a pistol, robbed a certain Sheppard Jabulani of an Altezza motor vehicle and cash amounting to P13 000.
He allegedly threatened the victim with a pistol in order to commit the crime. ENDS
