Old-timer charged two counts of attempted Murder

A 69-year-old man from Bokaa ward appeared in the Molepolole Magistrate Court on Monday facing two counts of attempted murder after a house fire.
John Kasale is accused of setting fire to a house in Bokaa ward on or about August 21, 2026, while two people were asleep inside.
According to the charge sheet, Kasale allegedly attempted to cause the death of Kelebogile Nompa by setting fire to the house in which she was sleeping. He faces a second count for allegedly attempting to cause the death of Ofentse Kgomotso during the same incident.
Kasale, who is unemployed, was not asked to enter a plea. The court scheduled the matter for mention on September 24, 2026.
Police confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing. ENDS
