04 May 2021
Takatokwane MP, Mr Tshoganetso Leuwe, has handed over a ram and buck to two constituents, a donation from President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi.
Mr Leuwe, on Friday, handed over a buck to Ms Mmamontle Motshebe of Sorilatholo and a ram to Ms Mmamalutu Mokweni of Salajwe.
He encouraged the two women to take care of the breeds to improve their small stock production.
Mr Leuwe said they should take care of the gift so that they could also give to others.
He said small stock producers had potential to improve their household livelihoods.
Ms Motshebe appreciated the gift saying she had been honoured, particularly that she was chosen among many who also qualified to benefit from the small stock production initiative.
She promised to take care of the buck and make sure it produced a better herd.
For her part, Ms Mokweni said she was excited to receive a ram from the President and she would not disappoint.
She said the donation had given her more strength and zeal to work harder.
Kgosi Olebetse Phemelo of Sorilatholo and Kgosi Moala Gaerupe of Salajwe said they were delighted that the two women were the ones chosen since they knew them as hard workers and dedicated to their small stock farming.
Kgosi Phemelo said Ms Motshebe was an example of endurance and a shining light for upcoming small farmers.
On one hand, Kgosi Gaerupe said he had known Ms Mokweni as a hard worker ever since she started her small stock farming through Nyeletso Lehuma programme.
Salajwe councillor, Mr Lopang Sebutlenyane, said he was happy that the grace of God had located Ms Mokweni, a dedicated farmer who would not disappoint.
Her beautiful kraal was a clear sign of determination, he said.
Mr Sebutlenyane added that he was sure that in the not distant future they would come to buy better breeds from her. ENDS
