Vaccine reaches frontline workers

Boteti Sub-district has started to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine to frontline workers at isolation facilities.
Regional health management team coordinator, Ms Gasebotho Kedikilwe, said during an interview that the roll out started with Orapa Mine Hospital last week.
Ms Kedikilwe said vaccination of health care workers would extend to Mmatshumo isolation site, Letlhakane Primary Hospital COVID-19 high care ward and Rakops Primary Hospital isolation.
She further indicated that since commencement of the vaccine roll out for 75-year olds, 1 069 had been vaccinated so far.
She stated that the vaccine had been rolled out to almost all the facilities in the district citing Makalamabedi, Khwee, Mmatshumo, Mosu, Mmadikola, Toromoja and Kedia, noting that vaccination continued in Kedia and Mmadikola.
Ms Kedikilwe stated that teams were also covering mobile stops and cattleposts.
In addition, she said, Lucara had donated an eight roomed porta cabin at Mmatshumo isolation site which was an ensuite and four ensuite isopods.
The donation, she said, would augment space for admission. ENDS
