Ms Evelyn Motlhaleng is the recent recipient of a Hyundai Bakkie from Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) 2020 hawkers challenge promotion.

According to the acting general manager - consumer sales Ms Boipelo Segale, BTC recognised the need to give back to its stake holders because of the role small businesses played in the economic development of the country.

She said because hawkers were an essential element in the distribution and sale of their airtime minutes through the Nthope service, it was important that they give back to recognise the immense contribution of the affiliated hawkers to BTC business success.

Ms Segale added that BTC valued those that they were serving and continued to find different ways with which to serve Batswana. She said BTC remained resolute in improving services for users and stakeholders alike to get the best mileage out of their business model.

Ms Motlhaleng expressed gratitude to BTC for the vehicle, which she said would greatly improve her business as she had struggled in the past in transporting her wares to where she sold them.

She said the vehicle would bring a lot of changes in her life as she would now also be able to diversify and get more business opportunities, noting that business had not been easy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ends
