Police in Francistown have arrested four robbers, who broke into Botswana Oil offices at Francistown’s Dumela Industrial Area and stole electronics valued at over P30 000.
Tatitown Police Station commander, Superintendent Lebogang Maniki said in an interview that the suspects, from Gaborone, were arrested on November 11 in Francistown.
He said the four gained entrance into the offices through the main door after they broke the burglar door.
He said items stolen included television sets, laptops, projectors and other accessories.
Superintendent Maniki said the suspects, who were currently in police custody pending their arraignment, were arrested through investigations.
He said the police had so far recovered some of the stolen items from the suspects, who are aged between 35 and 47.
He warned the business community to be vigilant by not leaving their business premises unattended.
“The business community must be alert at all times and they must tighten their security, especially during this coming festive season, which is synonymous with night break-ins and other criminal activities,” he added. ENDS
