Lobatse Police Investigate suicide

Lobatse Police are investigating an incident in which a 22-year-old man of Lobatse, reported missing on Sunday, was found dead at Boswelatlou ward on Tuesday.
 
In an interview Woodhall Police Station Commander, Superintendent Goitsemang Sekgabo said police received a report of a missing person on Sunday and a search mission was immediately launched.
 
The man was found at 1330 hours on Tuesday about 100 metres up the hill from Azania Guest House, where he resided. He was located by a team of police officers and police volunteers.
 
Superintendent Sekgabo said the deceased was found hanging from a cable on a tree and was identified by town elders and a relative. He was taken to Athlone Hospital where he was certified dead.
 
“We found no suicide note at the scene. The deceased’s body is currently at Athlone Hospital awaiting post-mortem."
 
Superintendent Sekgabo said the report was made by the deceased’s employer, who stated that he called the man on Saturday but he did not answer. On Sunday morning, the employer went to his residence, searched his room and contacted family to try to locate him, but without success.
 
He added that two personal mobile phones were found on top of the deceased’s bed, while the business mobile phone was missing but later found at the scene.
