Spiritual Healing Church donates P25 000 to Masiela Trust Fund
03 Nov 2019
Masiela Trust Fund executive director Ms Mogogodi Dabutha has extolled Spiritual Healing Church for their continued support.
He said this time around the churche’s donation had come at the right time given the increasing number of vulnerable children under the trust’s care.
She said this on Saturday at Maun when Spiritual Healing Church handed a cheque worth P25 000 to Masiela Trust Fund to assist some orphans and vulnerable children in the Ngamiland region.
Ms Dabutha observed that Masiela Trust Fund had over the years extended its services to vulnerable children, not only orphans as the name depicts.
She said there were many vulnerable children in the community who also needed assistance.
Masiela Trust Fund was formed in 2001 through government to assist orphans who were mainly left behind as a result of the HIV/AIDS scourge.
The trust fund no longer received funds from government, therefore relied on donations.
She said the rising number of vulnerable children was a challenge for the organisation, saying such children experienced sexual abuse, exploitation in terms of labour and trafficking.
Orphans, on one hand, she said experienced challenges of property grabbing by relatives.
Ms Dabutha therefore said the community should hold hands to protect and support orphans and vulnerable children.
Spiritual Healing Church president, Prophet Joseph Motswasele said the church had a responsibility to complement government’s efforts in assisting underprivileged citizens.
Prophet Motswasele said orphaned children deserved to be supported by the community, the church and other stakeholders to lead a positive life.
He said the church must therefore lead in nurturing orphaned children to become independent and educated individuals.
He noted that Spiritual Healing Church had a culture of giving to the needy in the community, an exercise espoused in all branches across the country. ENDS
