Police investigate attempted murder case

A 21-year-old woman of Tonota is helping the police of the same village with investigations of an attempted murder case.
In an interview with BOPA, Tonota station commander, Superintendent Kenanao Badumetse said the woman is suspected to have thrown a newborn baby into a pit latrine on October 30.
He said the baby girl was retrieved from the latrine by the police and was admitted at Tonota Clinic maternity wing with the mother, while investigations are on-going.
On a different matter, Supt Badumetse said a 21-year-old man of Mandunyane is in police custody after he knocked a Standard Three boy of Semotswane Primary School with a car on October 31 between Mandunyane and Semotswane villages.
He said the boy was on his way to school when the accident occurred.
He said the boy is admitted at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital with serious injuries.
Supt Badumetse said the taxi driver is still to confirm if he has a Public Service Vehicle license. BOPA
