In an interview, Jwaneng station commander Superintendent Thuso Basuti said in one of the incidents, a passerby found a newborn baby boy wrapped in a refuse bag at Unit 3 next to the Debswana club.

He said the passerby informed the police who rushed him to the Jwaneng Mine hospital where he was certified dead.

He said in another incident, a security officer who was on duty heard a baby crying in the bush at Unit 4 on July 17.

The baby boy was also wrapped in a refuse bag and was treated at the Jwaneng Mine hospital where he is currently admitted.

Supt. Basuti said no arrests had been made in regards to the two incidents and appealed to members of the public to help with information that could assist in locating the two mothers.

In a separate incident, the station commander said a car was broken into on the night of July 21 at Jwaneng Golf club and a laptop and clothes stolen.

He said a 37-year-old Zimbabwean man was arrested in connection with the break-in after a tip-off.
