Speaking during the award ceremony, public relations and marketing manager of HATAB Ms Tebogo Olepile said education described education as the chief formative factor in the success of individuals.
She said education furnished the basic principles, which gradually unified scattered minds and transformed them into well-defined people possessing a moral and intellectual consciousness of their own.
“Education is perhaps the only and greatest investment opportunity that one ever wish for thus why our nation continues to invest in the education of Batswana, to transform us into a knowledge based economy in line with the national Vision 2036 ideal of sustainable economic development” Ms Olepile said.
Ms Olepile went on to say that creating knowledge based economy begins with parents, teachers and the wider community who should provide a conducive environment for the development and nurturing of the future leaders at a tender age.
She also said a good quality education should be provided to all as this would enable the nation to pride itself on producing good citizens adding that a good practical education was the foundation of a prosperous nation.
She said all education stakeholders should join hands and strive to build, develop and produce students that can compete globally, especially at Ivy League recognised institutions so they can become internationally competitive human capital.
“Our school should produce independent, thinking, learned individuals who are equally dynamic, I believe it is never too late to set the wrongs right. All one needs is dedication and vision. We all need to get together to create an institution of learning that everyone can look up to” she said. ENDS
