Police appeal for information

28 Jan 2016

Tatitown Police Station Commander, Superintendent Cyprian Magalela has appealed to members of the public to come forth with information that could lead to the arrest of criminals who broke into two houses in Marobela.

Speaking in an interview, Supt Magalela said the incidents happened in the absence of the occupants of the houses. He revealed that household items, including beds, bedding and electrical appliances were stolen.

He said their investigations indicate that the culprits used a vehicle, which they suspect to be the one reported stolen on January 24 and later found abandoned in Francistown. He assured the public that any information would be treated with confidentiality.

He said that his charges had to control a syndicate, which was causing havoc in places around Borolong and Chadibe late last year.

Supt Magalela appealed to members of the public to be vigilant and report any foul play in their neighbourhood.

He underscored the importance of neighbourhood watch committees in the fight against crime. He appealed to home owners to relate well with their neighbours so that they help each other in times of trouble.

He advised absentee home owners to have someone staying in their houses for security reasons.

Supt Magalela stated that one of the owners of the houses broken into in Marobela resides in Jwaneng. Ends
