Pin code delays murder case
09 Dec 2015
Presiding officer in the Mosimanegape ‘Morse’ Mokgwathise’s murder case has told the Lobatse Magistrate Court that investigations are not yet over due to the deceased’s wife’s failure to cooperate.
The wife, Yvonne Mokgwathise, is also one of the accused in the matter.
Sub Inspector Legodile Sennafela told Magistrate Dipate Mareledi that Yvonne Mokgwathise refused to produce her phone pin-code on request by the mobile network service provider in order to access her phone for further investigations.
Sub Inspector Sennafela therefore requested for a court order for the network provider to access the phone without the pin-code to enable the case to proceed.
Magistrate Dipate Mareledi granted a court order for the mobile network provider to access Yvonne’s phone without a pin code.
Yvonne said she had no objection to the order, stating that she only forgot her pin-code.
Yvonne, Phemelo Thekoetsile and Clifford Nonofo on March 9, 2015 at Mogojogojo, acting in conjunction murdered Mosimanegape ‘Morse’ Mokgwathise.
The deceased was found dead behind the pit latrine at his place, with a wound under his left armpit close to his heart.
He seemed to have been stabbed with a sharp object. A family spokesperson revealed then that the deceased was well and had never complained of having any health problems before his death.
He was one of the pioneers of gospel music in the country and was working at Debswana at Jwaneng Mine.
He died at the age of 48 and the fourth born in a family of six siblings. Ends
