Ministry stakeholders share ideas

The Minister of Education and Skills Development has organised a three-day session dubbed the Ideas, Products, Services and Partners (IPS&P) Conference, which will provide a platform for stakeholders to share ideas and skills that can be implemented to transform the education system in Botswana.
The conference started on July 29 in Gaborone.
Speaking at a press briefing at the University of Botswana on Monday (July 27), education minister Dr Unity Dow said the IPS&P Conference is motivated by the desire to ensure that every child between the ages of four and 18 years is receiving or has received basic education.
She said her ministry plans to enlist teachers and instructors to realise the goal.
”I appreciate the role that teachers play and will have to continue to play if we are to overcome the myriad challenges currently facing the education system. It is a truism that a country that fails its teachers is failing to value its future,” she said.
Dr Dow said all stakeholders in the education sector must play their roles to achieve the goals of the conference.
She said the IPS&P Conference will also provide a platform to listen to teachers and students who always insist that there is a better and cheaper way to deliver the curriculum. Ends
