Emos farm donates to family
07 Jul 2015
Mr Enock Mosojane of Emos farm recently donated a food basket, which consisted of maize meal, cooking oil, sugar, rice and other foodstuff, to 37-year-old Ms Tshireletso Baaname who is struggling to put bread on the table for her five children.
Mr Mosojane said he intends to buy groceries and toiletry for Ms Baaname’s family every month and clothe her children.
Although the North East District Council (NEDC) Social and Community Development (S&CD) department has offered to help pay school fees for her child who is at junior secondary school, the single mother finds it a challenge to clothe and feed all her children.
Mr Mosojane owns a five year old horticultural business in Masunga.
He related that he could not stand seeing Ms Baaname’s family going through the pangs of poverty.
He stated that even though his business is not making a lot of money, he decided to do something to change lives.
Mr Mosojane also pleaded with other members of the public to lend a helping hand to the less-fortunate.
He advised that one does not need to have thousands of Pula to help. He said that even a bag of maize meal can make a difference.
He said that individuals should not leave community empowerment to non-governmental organisations and government alone.
He said that individuals should take up the responsibility and support the needy and live the national Vision 2016.
He further explained that poverty can distract children at school, making them fail or even skip their lessons.
Receiving the gift, Ms Baaname expressed gratitude and said Mr Mosojane’s gesture has restored their hope and dignity. She stated that the food will sustain the family for a long period of time. Ends
