50 fail to vote
24 Oct 2014
At least 50 voters did not vote at Riverwalk Tuckshop polling station as only their registration numbers appeared on the voters roll while part of the information did not appear.
So far, three of the affected people turned up but could not exercise their right to vote. Due to that the word UNUSED appeared on the roll barring them from voting.
One of the affected voters, Ms Semakaleng Mokgosi was in tears and lamented her decision to register to Tlokweng.
Mokgosi who hails from Modipane said the incident was frustrating given that some of the people she registered with were allowed to vote as their information was in order.
The presiding officer Lincoln Goitsemang said it was evident that something did not go accordingly during the registration and said had the voters approached them earlier they could have been assisted.
Two other voters were not allowed to vote as one had a 2009 registration card while another had an expired identity card. Ends
