Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) leader and presidential candidate, Mr Duma Boko, has urged Batswana to unite towards making their country great within the global community.
Mr Boko said this after casting his vote this morning at around 8:15am at Gaborone Bonnington North constituency.
He told Botswana television (Btv) that he was happy to be part of this historic event and urged Batswana to work together irrespective of political affiliation tribal origin or religious background.
Mr Boko described the country as ‘mpho ya Modimo’ (a gift from God), that required all its citizens to unite towards creating a better future.
He further expressed delight in the youth participating in the election, saying the last national population census showed that about half of the population constituted the youth.
Mr Boko said in the past the youth were apathetic towards elections but this time around about 47% of registered voters were youth. He implored them to vote and shape the future of the country. ENDS
