Signed International recieves warm reception

The first episode of the long anticipated local reality TV series, dubbed Signed International received a positive response from the audience.
Produced by a local company, Cowhorn Productions, the new television acting competition aired on BTV on Friday. The show producer, Johnson Otlaadisa said they have a Facebook page and after people watched the first episode, feedback from the site was amazing as positive comments were trending in the social media.
He said the audience showed much appreciation of the opening episode of the 13 episode series and was happy to learn that they were heading the right direction. The new local television acting competition was launched at the end of 2012 in Gaborone.
Otlaadisa said the crew toured the country where they selected 10 of the best actors and actresses in Botswana. “The 10 have been trained, workshops conducted and had also gone head to head to compete for the P50 000 cash prize, as well as contract to start a professional acting career under the management of one of the biggest casting agencies -Talent Etc based in Johannesburg, South Africa.”
The producer said the main goal of Signed International was to expose local acting talent to international market as well as to develop the raw talent that they discovered. He added that it was high time that a lot of attention be brought to local talent as Batswana have amazing raw acting talent.
The competition is sponsored by the Ministry of Health Safe Male Circumcision Programme, Brand Botswana and the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture. Ends
