BotswanaPost invites writers
18 Mar 2014
As a member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Botswana will once again participate in the 43rd International Letter-Writing competition for young people.
Head of Communications for BotswanaPost, Lebogang Bok said young people from all over the world were this year being invited to write a letter describing ‘’how music can touch lives”.
The competition is an excellent forum for young people to develop their writing skills and to express their thoughts clearly and foster enjoyment in letter writing. It creates awareness among young people, on the important role of the postal sector in economies as well as strengthens international relations.
The competition is open to students up to the age of 15 years. Botswana Post will award prizes to the schools and students producing the top three letters at national level.
The top three schools will be awarded money prizes of P15 000, P10 000 and P5 000 respectively. The best letter at national level will be sent to the Universal Post Union to compete with other letters from the UPU member countries across the world.
The international winner will be announced not later than September 2014. In 2011, Botswana got position 3 in the world through Charlene Tlagae’s letter, then a form 2 student at Crescent English Medium School in Lobatse. Ends
