Three people sustained serious injuries whilst one lost his life in a road accident near the new Palapye Police Station along the Gaborone/Francistown road.

Acting station commander, Assistant Superintendent Sylvester Maupong said the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon (March 16) when an Isuzu pick up which was heading north was overtaking a truck and in the process collided with another motor vehicle.

He said the Isuzu carried two people including the driver whilst the other vehicle carried four people. He said three people were admitted to Mahalapye hospital whilst the driver of the Isuzu was certified dead.

One passenger sustained minor injuries. Assistant Superintendent Maupong said many accidents occurred along Gaborone/Francistown road, thus he cautioned drivers to obey traffic signs. ENDS
