Nchunga to perform at Maruapula

Those who love Lesego Nchunga, stage name Leshie Lovesong, will have a chance to see her performing a one hour love set called Falling at Maruapula School today (March 7). Falling is a collection of Leshie Lovesong’s works over the past seven years.
The play offers the audience a rare opportunity to have a one hour intimate experience with Leshie Lovesong. For the first time, the audience will be enchanted by her enchanting stories, told through poetry, song and theatre accompanied by acoustic instruments for the organic element.
You will be blown away and left spellbound after an enthralling journey never travelled before; but you will never fall.
Maruapula School is the place to be if you want to witness Leshie Lovesong’s raw talent. Her rustic breathy voice will certainly captivate you and leave echoes of hope for love in your heart.
She will be performing along with Mandisa Mabuthoe, also an international poet and singer, and Boleng Atmos, a University of Botswana student. DJ Lexphieeox Cutta will be on the decks, and tickets are sold at P70. Leshie Lovesong is a singer and performance poet based in Botswana. She became a slam champion of the Exodus Live
Poetry in 2006, and a member of the collective in 2007. Since 2007, Leshie Lovesong has performed at the Infinite Word Festival in Gaborone.
As an advocate for environmental sustainability, she has work shopped drama scripts which included her poetry in Angola, Luanda, Namibia and Rwanda, the focus being on the Okavango River.
In 2011, she was featured in the poetry audio anthology Dreaming is a Gift for Me which is in circulation internationally. In 2012, she performed at the 100 000 Poets for Change Event hosted by Poetavango in Maun.
That same year Leshlie Lovesong took her poetry to another level, co-writing and co-directing a human rights poetic play called The Bed Spread which was first performed at Witz University in Johannesburg, South Africa. In September 2013, she performed at the Annual INTWASA ko Bulawayo Festival. She was a pioneering member of the Metrophones Band, in which she was a vocalist.
Currently, Leshie Lovesong is working on the release of her first EP titled “Sunflowers and Strawberries: Of Reaping and Sowing”. ENDS
