The Alliance for Progressives (AP) President, Mr Ndaba Gaolatlhe will on Saturday officially open the party’s leadership retreat which will be held under the theme: AP in Government: Turning Policy Precision to Real Impact, in Palapye.

In an interview, Alliance for Progressives (AP) Deputy Secretary General, Mr Phemelo Kedumele said the retreat would bring under one roof party officials from all levels, from Members of Parliament to regional chairs and secretaries.

According to Mr Kedumele, the main agenda was to provide training on leadership matters.

The session will also reflect on the journey the AP has taken so far, including its role in government in partnership with other political parties.

“We expect a lot from this meeting, as it will be the first time since 2024 general elections this leadership gathers to discuss and interact on issues affecting the party,’’ Kedumele said.

He added that the training will be conducted in collaboration with leadership development experts.

“In other words, we will have leadership training as part of the sessions during this meeting,’’ he noted.

Furthermore, a special programme is scheduled for Sunday, specifically targeting members of the women’s and youth committees.

“We will gather our members to train them and collect feedback on what needs to be done, as well as the next course of action for their committee leadership,” Mr Kedumele explained.

The main leadership retreat begins tomorrow and concludes on Sunday, running parallel to the special programmes for the women and youth wings. ENDS
