Retail pump prices for petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin will decrease with effect from 00:01 hours on Tuesday, July 7 following a decline in international oil prices.

It also explains that the retail pump price of diesel 50ppm decreases by 412 thebe per litre, with the new price set at 2093 thebe (P20.93) per litre.
It further says the retail pump price of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 533 thebe per litre, bringing the new price to
P18.33) per litre.
Also it says the average price of Brent crude oil falls by 18.6 percent, from US$103.71 per barrel in May 2026 to US$84.43 per barrel in June 2026.
It further says the average price of Unleaded Petrol 95 declines by 16 percent, from US$133.40 to US$112.09 per barrel, while diesel prices fall by 15 percent, from US$158.84 to US$130.27 per barrel. It adds that illuminating paraffin prices decrease by 18.4 percent, from US$160.35 to US$127.14 per barrel over the same period.
The release also attributes the reduction in local fuel prices to a decline in international oil prices observed during June 2026.
It says the decrease is mainly driven by lower geopolitical risk premiums as tensions in the Middle East ease following the announcement of a preliminary peace agreement and a memorandum of understanding between the warring parties.
Finally it says BERA continues to monitor market conditions and will make fuel price adjustments as necessary. ENDS
