Magoriapitse Man Appears in court for murder

A Magoriapitse man accused of murdering a woman on June 14 appeared before the Lobatse Magistrates Court on Tuesday..
Oratile Motlakase, 31, of Lenkopane kgotla in Magoriapitse, appeared before Chief Magistrate of Lobatse Magistrate Court, Ms Rebecca Motsamai on one count of murder.
He is accused of killing 39-year-old Ms Pako Diphofu of Magoriapitse, contrary to Section 202 of the Penal Code, Laws of Botswana.
State prosecutor Ms Tamela Mbulawa told the court the case was still under investigation and applied for a remand. She said this would allow investigators time to complete their work.
Mbulawa also informed the court that in line with the Bail Act of 2024, arrangements will be made for the deceased’s next of kin to address the court on bail.
Motlakase will return to court on June 30 for a status hearing.
