Boikaego Shares Fond Memories of Her Father

A representative of the Mogae family, Ms Boikaego Mogae, the youngest daughter of the late former President Festus Mogae shared her heartfelt sentiments, saying he respected the voices of his children and upheld strong cultural norms while remaining a multifaceted individual.
Speaking at a funeral service of Dr Mogae, who died on May 8, Ms Mogae described him as a proud man who always acted in the best interest of Motswana and contributed significantly to building Botswana, referring to him as one of the true architects of the nation.
She said his lifetime of service was marked by peace, dignity, and pride in his Batalaote heritage.
She also shared lighter memories, describing him as a fashion enthusiast with refined taste, fond of Rolex watches and classic music, with little interest in exercise but a deep love for enjoying life.
“He was a lover of good times, good food, and fine wine, which he affectionately referred to as “mofine o boitshepo.”
She remembered him as a true foodie who appreciated every delicacy.
She also thanked everyone for the messages of support and well wishes extended to the family during this time. ENDS
