Ngami to receive 31 projects under Bonno housing programme
06 Apr 2026
Parliament has been informed that 31 projects have been budgeted for under various components of the Bonno National Housing Programme (BNHP) in the Ngami Constituency.
Responding to a parliamentary question from Member of Parliament for Ngami Mr Phillimon Aaron, recently, Minister of Water and Human Settlement, Mr Onneetse Ramogapi, said the allocation of the housing units was distributed per seven housing units under the Bonno Ordinary Turnkey Development Housing Loan Scheme, with two units reserved for Nxau-Nxau, one unit each for Etsha 6 and Nokaneng as well as three for Gumare.
The minister added that four housing units under the Bonno D4 scale and below or equivalent Housing Loan Scheme (Turnkey), would be distributed by allocating one unit for Nokaneng and three for Gumare.
He said 10 housing units under the Ordinary Home Improvement Housing Loan Scheme were initially budgeted, however, only three applications were received from Gumare.
He added that 10 housing units were budgeted for under the Bonno D4 scale and below or Equivalent Housing Loan Scheme (Home Improvement Scheme), but no applications were received from the constituency.
He further said at least 240 housing units would be delivered by investors in Ngami under the investor-led component of the programme and the actual number of housing units to be delivered on the site would depend on the design approach adopted by the investor.
The minister revealed that the investors allocated land in Ngami was Hsecred Holdings Pty Ltd and was allocated 50 plots in Etsha, while Farmcraft Pty Ltd received 50 plots in Gumare and Moreproperty 70 plots in Gumare.
Regarding the number of projects already in progress and their location, Mr Ramogapi said all the outlined projects were scheduled to commence in the next financial year, as preparatory processes were currently underway.
He explained that the criteria used to equitably distribute the housing allocation nationwide was a first-come, first-served basis per constituency, subject to the availability of plots and applicants meeting the eligibility requirements of the programme.
MP Aaron had asked the minister to state the total number of houses budgeted or planned for the Ngami constituency under the Bonno National Housing Programme along with a break down on how many would be built per village. end
