Maxy preaches love HIV awareness

19 Feb 2014

Songstress, Maxy, preached love and HIV awareness as she serenaded lovebirds in Tsabong on Valentine’s Day.

The Queen of the Sands staged a marvellous performance at Tsabong Community Hall on the night of February 14 and had the crowd screaming for more until the festival was extended by a few hours.

It was a night of musical bliss that was spiced with encouraging words from Maxy, who delivered messages that were in line with the theme of “zero new HIV infections by 2016.”

She urged the couples to complement government’s efforts to guarantee zero new infections by engaging in safe sexual practices. She told them that love went a long way beyond emotional attachment.

“Love is not supposed to hurt or cause suffering, but should be a blissful experience that is characterised by happiness, respect and trust,” said Maxy.

She encouraged couples to be open and appreciate each other. She urged attendants to appreciate themselves as they would be able to understand that unsafe sexual practices will do them no good.

Maxy also encouraged women to take pride in who they were, make wise decisions, think independently and take control of their lives. She said communication builds stronger relationships and advised men to take the lead in the fight against HIV.

“We must all avoid having multiple concurrent partnerships and abusing alcohol. Most importantly we should strive to draw closer to God as he is the way and the truth,” said Maxy. ends
