The Police are on high alert, ensuring safe travels as heavy traffic flows from the south to the north of the country.

Dibete Police Station Commander, Superintendent Keoagile Tau, said the police were checking vehicles for safety standards and guiding motorists.

He said no accidents had been recorded along Dibete area despite heavy traffic experienced yesterday.

Superintendent Tau explained that the operation they embarked on was yielding positive results as motorists cooperated well with the police.

He said the police inspected public transport and private vehicles to ensure compliance to safety standards.

During these checks, he said officers provided guidance to motorists and promoted responsible driving in order to minimise road accidents, urging motorists to obey road traffic signs and avoid drunk driving. ENDS
