Two in police custody for murder incidents

A 17-year-old boy is in police custody to help Serowe police with investigations in a murder incident, which took place in Logotho lands near Serowe over the weekend.
In an interview, Serowe Police Assistant Superintendent Eric Dambe said they arrested the young boy on suspicion that he stabbed to death a 20-year-old man with a sharp instrument following a misunderstanding. He said the deceased was rushed to Sekgoma Memorial Hospital, where he was certified dead.
In another incident, he said the police had arrested a 20 year-old man on suspicion that he stabbed to death a 23-year-old man with a sharp instrument at Dithojane lands on December 21. He said the two are believed to have had a misunderstanding at a drinking hole, which ended with one losing his life. He said the suspects were yet to be arraigned before Serowe Magistrate Court.
Meanwhile, Mr Dambe said the Born and Raised Festival, which took place in Serowe on Saturday, went smoothly without serious incidents except that of stealing cellphones and wallets. He said they worked well with the Security Systems officers to maintain order. ENDS
