Six Appear For Different Offences At Lobatse Magistrate Court

A 22-year old man who is the main suspect in the murder of a middle aged man appeared before Lobatse Senior Magistrate, Tshoganetso Atamelang on Monday.

The deceased was allegedly stabbed by a sharp object in the chest on Friday in Mmathethe and succumbed to injuries.

The accused will appear again on November 19 for bail hearing.

Still on Friday another two suspects who are believed to be friends with the deceased were apprehended after torching a house believed to be the homestead of the murder suspect.

The duo was arraigned before Lobatse Magistrate Court’s Chief magistrate Ms Rebecca Motsamai on Monday and are likely to be charged with arson.

One of the suspects was out on bail with the charge of unlawfully wounding a police officer in July, . The suspects will appear again in court on November 19 for possible bail hearing.

Still in Mmathethe another three middle aged men were arrested for unlawful wounding and preliminary investigations by the Good Hope Police suggest that they were avenging the murder of their friend.

The victim received medical attention and is recovering at home, while the suspects who were also arraigned in court and appeared before Senior Magistrate Atamelang on Monday, will appear again on November 17. ENDS
