09 Oct 2025
Trial has been set for next year in a case in which Bangwaketse royal family member, Metlhaeno Gaseitsewe is facing charges of undermining the powers of Kgosi Malope II by allegedly stating that he has no royal blood.
Kanye Senior Magistrate Keneilwe Kgoadi has set the period from May 5th to 7th 2026 as tentative dates for the case, pointing that the trial should be held in three consecutive days because there were a lot of witnesses. She however indicated that the trial dates would be confirmed on March 12, 2026.
Gaseitsewe has since pleaded not guilty to the charge of undermining the powers of Kgosi Malope. He stands accused of stating that Kgosi Malope II has no royal blood, neither did he possess the intellect to be called a leader, as well as referring to him as a commoner without any lawful excuse.
