Lobatse Magistrate Court has set December 2 to 3 as trial dates for a case in which Moagi Mokomeng is accused of defilement.

Thirty-four-year old Mokomeng is accused of having unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor without her consent between December 26 and 27, 2022 at Borite Ward in Kgomokasitwa.

Attorney Kgosietsile Ngakayagae, representing Mokomeng informed the court that he had just received instructions from the family to handle the matter and was yet to have a full consultation with his client.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Public Prosecutions told court that the accused had been furnished with all the relevant documents and that the complainant was undergoing counselling.

Mokomeng’s rape case runs parallel to his recent cases of nine counts of offenses which include murder, attempted murder, arson and malicious damage to property committed on 25 February 2025 on the day in which rape case witnesses were served with court papers subpoenaed to appear in court for the rape case.
