Court remands two pending investigations

Senior Magistrate, Mpho Molema of Ghanzi Magistrates Court has remanded in custody two murder accused persons, Kapi Webb, 36, and Pakie Webb, 30, pending police investigations.
The two siblings are facing a single count of murder. The particulars of the offence are that the accused persons on August 10 at Kgaphamadi ward in Ghanzi murdered Osego Mosetlhane.
Inspector Ngebani Shathiso pleaded with court to remand the accused persons, saying the matter was still at an infancy stage.
Advancing reasons why the duo should be remanded in custody, Detective Gobona Mabeo of Criminal Investigations Department, said the matter was still fresh and also a sensitive issue as it involved murder, hence the need for ample time to gather sufficient evidence.
Detective Matheo further told court that the matter had attracted public interest; therefore the safety of the accused persons was also a priority.
He said it was imperative to remand the accused persons so as to also allow the public to calm down. The accused will appear for next mention on August 26. ENDS
