Masisi attends Mozambique independence day

Former President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi and First Lady, Ms Neo Masisi joined the people of Mozambique in Maputo on Wednesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence.
A press release from the former President’s Office states that their visit strengthen and deepen relations between the two nations and their citizens.
The release explains that Botswana and Mozambique has enjoyed warm and friendly diplomatic relations that dates to 1975, which has resulted in Mozambique establishing a resident Diplomatic Mission in Gaborone in 2004 and in 2012 Botswana established a resident Mission in Maputo .
It further states that the Golden Jubilee marks a historical milestone, which represents a solemn mark in Mozambique’s journey of self-determination and independence.
“It is a day dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging the history of the people of Mozambique that has shaped their nation and forging a clear path filled with hope for a prosperous future,” states the release. The two return today. ENDS
