Corpus Christ Catholic celebrates silver jubilee

The Corpus Christ Catholic Mission has been urged to evangelise, capture and bring many souls to their church.
Speaking at the 25th Corpus Christ Catholic Mission Silver Jubilee celebrations over the weekend, Masunga deputy chief, Kgosi Thabo Monaga encouraged the church leaders to welcome members and treat them equally without favour, as that could lead to breakdown and members fleeing from the church.
“Use the 4Cs being Consultation, Communication, Cooperation and Coordination,” he said, noting that if this could be put in practice, things would always be on track.
Bishop Frank Nabuasah said the church was established in Masunga in 2000 and was assisted by the United States of America at a tune of US$20 for construction of the church structure. He said as funds were not enough to complete the building that was suitable and large enough, they went on a fund raising campaign to manage the structure of their choice. He stated that as the donor always had an upper hand, he suggested that the church be named Corpus Christi Catholic Mission citing that he did not believe in the name of the church but in the blood of Jesus Christ.
Bishop Nabuasah stated that they started constructing sisters’ houses followed by pre-school, then the church followed by Father’s house and the education centre. He noted that their intention of building a parish in the area was to gather people to worship together as Catholic Christians and followers of Christ.
Provincial Supervisor of the Congregation of Oblates of Mary Immaculate for Lesotho and Botswana, Father Mothusi Boatile said Pilgrimage was a journey taken by a person with purpose. He said there were many things happening in life that oblige people move from one point to another.
Father Boatile stated that the book of Philippians 3 verse 20 was a reminder that people were visitors in this world adding that even some of the hymn notes indicated that there was a home for all in heaven. As such, he said, this shows that people are bound to move from one area to another moving with a purpose of glorifying God.
“Whenever we talk about pilgrimage, there is already an element of detachment and attachment as a person has to leave one area to another,” he said.
He urged all pilgrims to be educational whenever they embark on their journey, as that is their role to learn during their tour voyages. ENDS
