Mojadigo misses court appearance

Rape accused pastor Goitsekgosi Mojadigo of The Divine Anointing Church International on Monday missed his routine court appearance due to some undisclosed illness. 

Appearing before the Village Magistrate Court’s Chief Magistrate Mr Daniel Nkau, the state prosecutor from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Ms Nelly Seabueng explained that the accused would not make it to court as he was said to had been taken for medical attention. 

Hence she requested the court to schedule another mention date. 

Although the accused person was previously granted bail by both Village Magistrate Court and Mochudi Magistrate Court, where he had rape and defilement cases pending, his bail was r revoked by Mochudi Magistrate Court after he was found to have contravened one of the bail conditions. 

Mojadigo was found to have communicated with one of the witnesses, something he was prohibited to do by the court. Before the Village Magistrate Court, Mojadigo, is said to have on or about 23 April 2024 near or at Block 10 in Gaborone without lawful excuse had carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old minor. 

The 33-year-old, also faces rape and defilement charges before the Mochudi Magistrate Court, where he is alleged to have committed the crimes between January 1 and May 5 last year at Morwa and Donga in Francistown, of which he also impregnated a 16-year-old girl. 

Mojadigo will have a first chance to defend himself against the multiple sex offences in Mochudi this year as his trial is scheduled for July 7-8, as well as August 12. ENDS
