Criminal investigations against Kgomokasitwa triple murder accused Moagi Mokomeng are nearing completion as the prosecution prepares to commit the matter to the High Court for trial. Appearing for the state before Lobatse Magistrate Court senior magistrate Ms Tshoganetso Atamelang on Tuesday, Ms Miriam Amos of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said the police were almost done wrapping up evidence reports and statements from the victims and witnesses. Ms Amos disclosed that all reports have been received thus far, but that what remained was a ballistics report to ascertain if the service firearm was functional as it was a crucial piece of evidence in the criminal investigation.

Furthermore, the prosecutor noted that the police were also left with attaining information from the mobile service providers and as such she requested for the accused to be further remanded in custody until investigations were concluded.

The 34-year-old soldier is scheduled to appear again in court on June 25 for nine counts of offences which include murder, attempted murder, arson and malicious damage to property. ENDS
