Gomotsang Maluke of Mmopi ward in Mathangwane has been remanded in custody as she is accused of killing Prince Nvundla of Zimbabwe.
The accused, who appeared before Principal Magistrate Tshepho Magetse of Francistown Magistrate Court on Monday, has been remanded until May 27 and her plea is reserved. Ms Sesafeleng Dijeng from Directorate of Public Prosecution had earlier pleaded with the court to remand the accused for security reasons. She also said they were still to locate the deceased’s next of kin in Botswana and Zimbabwe.
Also, she said they were still to engage social workers to facilitate them so that they could interview eyewitnesses in the matter, who were the accused’s minor siblings. The accused aged 23, did not oppose to being remanded in custody and said her life was in danger, as she believed the deceased’s friends would harm her. ENDS
