Ignore miracle soap - ministry

The Ministry of Health has urged the public to ignore allegations of a miracle soap called Mo-gae that is claimed to prevent HIV Infection better than a condom.
“The Ministry of Health is extremely alarmed by the alleged misleading claims,” a press release from the ministry stated. The ministry therefore, urged the public to ignore such claims as there was no vaccine against HIV/AIDS infection.
The ministry further reminded the public to adhere to safe sex practices; consistent use of condoms and attitude change towards sexual behaviour. The release further said government had also put in place programmes to prevent and manage HIV/AIDS infection which included the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), Safe male Circumcision (SMC) to reduce the transmission of the virus and the provision of Anti-Retroviral Drugs (ARVs).
It also stated that government provided Prophylactic treatment for those who might be accidentally get exposed to the infection. The ministry advised the public to call its Toll Free Number: 0800 600 740 for more information. Ends
