Ministers visit public facilities
05 Feb 2014
Cabinet ministers are scheduled to undertake inspections of various government facilities as part of their collective responsibility.
A statement from Botswana Government Communications and Information System (BGCIS) has stated that the initiative arose because of feedback received by the President and ministers during interactions with various government departments, kgotla meetings and other public consultations.
“Pursuant to this, cabinet ministers and senior civil servants will this week visit secondary schools. The next round of visits will be to health facilities. The purpose of these visits is to get a ‘snapshot’ overview of the facilities’ current status and identify areas of potential improvement,” read the statement.
The statement further said inspection of facilities by the leadership reflected the government’s commitment to effective service delivery throughout the nation now and in the future. Ends
