Sejelo police are investigating a tragic death of a 42-year-old man discovered in Lorolwane in Kanye West.
Acting Station Commander, Detective Usiel Keteeue said the deceased was found around 11pm on Wednesday night following a tip-off from local residents who reported hearing what appeared to be gunshots.
Upon arrival, authorities found the deceased in the driver’s seat of a double cab Toyota GD6 bakkie with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, and a rifle.
Detective Keteeue revealed that three men aged 30 and 40 years turned themselves in at the Sejelo Police Station hours later, claiming they were with the deceased when they were attacked by armed men.
Detective Keteeue had suspicions that the quartet may have been on a hunting spree, possibly targeting domestic or wild animals.
He added that the deceased had pending crime files before the Kanye Magistrate Court related to stock theft.
The three men are currently in police custody as investigations into the incident continue. ENDS
