Serowe Senior Magistrate Onneile Ntwayapelo has granted 22-year-old Kaone Ramagapu of Masololo ward conditional bail.

Ramagapu is facing a single count of murder of his long time friend, Pako Johane. The accused person is said to have committed the offence on February 9, 2025 at Moremogolo Depot and Bar in Serowe. He was granted bail on conditions that he does not commit a similar offence, as well as report to the CID office in Serowe every Friday end of the month. He will appear again in court on March 26.

According to the police report, the incident occurred after Johane took a carton of sorghum beer belonging to Ramagapu. Johane attempted to compensate his drinking friend by offering P20 for the drink, but the situation turned intense. The suspect is alleged to have stabbed his friend with a sharp instrument before escaping the scene.

Sources indicated that the two men were known drinking mates who frequently socialised together at local bars. The suspect is alleged have a history of violent behaviour and dropped out of school at an early age. ENDS
